Sent the block to the machine shop last week. they came back to me telling me that it needs to be bored .060" over, as they are out of round. everything else is good, and they’re sourcing forged pistons with the proper clearances, as they requite a larger space between the wall, and stock pistons no longer fit the larger bore.
*Squee!* HERE I COME!

Reading “B20" instantly brings my mind to the Volvo engine. It is revvy enough to be a pushrod, but not excactly VTEC.

bored .006" over
You mean .060?

Yup.
*facepalm*

So does that mean lower compression and room for a supercharger? Heard of plenty of people supercharging the B20's with low boost levels and seeing respectable gains.

Do you know what brand pistons?

I’m still voting for the 99/00 “EK” bumper on your EL front end :D
ms-paint mods

I couldn’t find a picture (although I’ve seen it done), so enjoy this hack job.

I think what he really means is 1.5mm.

Should mean higher compression ratio with a bigger bore but unmodified heads, unless the pistons are dished...

So instead of a 1973cc engine you’ll have a 2044 :) nice
What’s the plan for the rest of it?

Wiseco.

Not looking to make power just yet, I want it reliably running

The engine or the car?
I just picked up a stock B16 exhaust manifold, trade for an axleback I had laying around from my parts car. Stock intake manifold came with my b16 head. All I need is an intake.

If only I didn’t just wire up my EL turn signals..
(and yes, they’re on the bumper)

a valid issue, as I knew they are in the bumper, wonder how others have solved this.
man, I really want an EL front now so I can do this! :)

Not sure. Its with a buddy.
Only shot I found of it on his old hatch.

I actually am interested, depending on cost, condition and feasibility kf shipping :) where are you located?
![]() 03/07/2016 at 23:07 |

im in Ottawa, Canada
Id say if you can pay shipping its all yours, just gotta see what my friend thinks.

cant hurt for me to look into shipping costs. I shall do some googling tomorrow

Ive been told its 9.35:1. higher than stock.

Ah that’s not too bad, and might make for a little bump in power :)
![]() 03/08/2016 at 01:23 |

Expecting about 170-200 hp and plenty of torque.

Very nice :) should make for an excellent little car :)
Decently quick too. 200bhp in a small car is nothing to be sniffed at...

It already feels quick with the 115-ish it’s (probably) currently putting out. Cyl 4 has a gasket leak and it’s annoying me by misfiring at lower speed.

now where WOULD I put indicators? :P

You kinda have one choice.
